September 30, 2024 is the last working day before the National Holiday. In the evening, after the work meeting, CPEC management team drove more than 20km to Liangjian Rongtian Beijing Traditional Lamb Spine Hot Pot Xierqi Restaurant for dinner.

September 30 is the National Martyrs' Day. Actually CPEC had issued a notice prohibiting entertainment activities that day. But this dinner had a special significance. The owner of this hotpot restaurant is Luan Liuwei. On August 10, he sacrificed himself in Gu'an County, Hebei Province to rescue three children who fell into the water. That day was also his second daughter's third birthday. At the same time, a 64-year-old local citizen Zhao Jin also sacrificed. After the heroic story of Luan Liuwei were spread to Beijing, many citizens came to dine at the restaurant, since people don’t want it to close down. There are often many people waiting in line in front of the door, and there are also neighbors of martyrs who came to the store to help for free. It is also a "miracle" for customers to settle their bills after finishing their meals. Almost no one looks at the bill, and some even pay extra money. The customer insists on paying, while the salesperson insists on not. The two sides are pulling and tugging like they are in a "war".

The employees of CPEC were moved by the deeds of the martyrs and the emotions of ordinary Beijing people. On this special day, they also came to contribute their humble efforts to the martyrs and their families to show their respect.
